Any Android TV, set-top box, or tablet with a browser can run Pixyl today: open the screen link, type the 6-digit pairing code, and it plays. A native Android player — kiosk mode, boot straight to content, tighter hardware control — is in active development.

The web player runs in any modern Android browser. It caches media locally, keeps playing through network outages, switches schedules on-device, and reports proof of play back to your dashboard. Pin the browser in kiosk mode and most deployments need nothing else.
Boot-to-content on power-up, true kiosk lockdown, and better control of the hardware. It is in active development — this page will say so plainly when it ships, and not before.
A $30 Android TV stick on the back of a TV is a perfectly good signage player. Pixyl is built for that: the player is light, media is cached locally, and screen health monitoring tells you the moment a device goes dark.
No. Any Android device with a modern browser works — TVs, sticks, boxes, tablets. If it can open a web page, it can be a screen.
It is in active development. The browser player is the supported path today and runs the same playlists, layouts, and schedules.
The player caches media locally, so the loop keeps playing and schedules keep switching on-device. It resyncs when the connection returns.
